Accordng to the US Census Bureau 1 out 6 children live in poverty. Minority children are among the highest rate of poverty. The pandemic has increased the number of families living in poverty. In 2020 single parent households in all races make up 25% of those living in poverty. Minorities single parent households are at 30% . 

Lack of education goes beyond just academics, it is also learned  behaviors that keep individuals repeating patterns that are keeping them stuck in the same cycle that they grew up in .  Most individuals are working below federal poverty wages. Lack of opportunites, low wages, and education are some of the reasons why. 

This happens when there is a lack of transparency in government, groups and institutions policies and practices that lead to Racism from inherent biases and prejudice from those in positions to determine what resources are available to  you.  Inequalities to distribute and provide access to resources, basic social services, and living wages to individuals. Most vulnerable our women, minorities, and gender discrimination.

Families living in poverty have feelings of hopelessness, depression, stressed and being overwhelmed by their current life.

We have learned by what our family teaches us as we grow up, however it also can be learn from outside resources like teachers, television, and those we associate with. 

Poverty creates a sense of feeling unsafe and insecurity of not knowing if there be food to eat, clothes to wear, a home to live in, heat, electricity or water. it affects our pyshical and mental health as well. 

 This class will cover learning their spending habits, setting up a budget, understanding credit and what the cost is. Setting up checking and saving accounts. 

 We will work with the family to create a healthy living environment- mentoring on parenting skills, setting boundaries, shopping, hygiene for self and home, help advocate and provide resources information. 

 Teaching skills to become responsible renters and understanding their responsibilities. Home Buying Classes will teach clients what it takes to prepare to purchase a home and resources available for them 

 This course will work with women to help provide skills in becoming an entrepreneur and leadership needing to be successful in business. 

 Teaching interview skills and proper dress attire, creating a resume, and providing resources to assist them. If you are looking to future your education through college, trade schools, or internships

It is time to make memories! We will organized group events so that families have fun enjoying outings for the day or weekend trips. 

This course will cover setting up a budget, learning about checking and saving accounts, understanding credit reports, and setting finanical goals.

 Teaching skills to become responsible renters and understanding their responsibilities and the landlords. 

This course will teach youth to research research different career options by selecting a career. We will look at options such as trade careers, college degrees, and on the job training. 

This course will work with youth to help provide skills in becoming an entrepreneur and leadership needed to be successful in business 

 Prepare youth with living skills to maintain a healthy living environment and the skills that are required. The Character-building skills will provide them tools to become successful in life and set healthy boundaries . 

 Tutor101 – provide tutoring for low-income and at-risk youth to help them increase their success rate . 

 After-school/Summer Sports and Camp Programs – Provide athletic programs for boys and girls to teach teamwork and athletics skill building. Our summer camps will be week programs that will provide fun activities for youth.
